Correctional Facilities — Service and Meetings
The purpose of a correctional facilities committee is to coordinate the work of individual AA members and groups who are interested in carrying our message of recovery to alcoholics behind the walls and to set up means of smoothing the way from the facility to the larger AA community through prerelease contacts.
- AA Guidelines (CFC)
Thank you for your interest in corrections service work. There are several ways to participate with the Corrections Committee and help carry the message of sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous to those who are behind the walls and identify as alcoholic.
Join the CFC Committee - Attend the monthly CFC meeting and carry information about service opportunities back to your home group.
When: The Corrections Committee meets on the first Thursday of each month, 6:00 PM, currently via Zoom. Please contact the CFC Chair for the Zoom ID: cfcchair@aanc32.org.
Write Letters to an Alcoholic Inmate
If you would like to share your experience, strength, and hope with an alcoholic in jail then download and read the pamphlet below. Fill it out, mail it in and GSO will send you the name and contact information of an alcoholic so that you can correspond with them.
Request Literature for an Inmate
Volunteer to take a meeting for a correctional facility - There are hundreds of alcoholics behind bars in our area and many will not have access to AA without a volunteer. Please take note of the instructions link and application for each institution. If you have questions please contact the district correctional facilities chair, cfcchair@aanc32.org.
