Accessibilities Committee
For individuals
Finding a Meeting That Works for You
If you have a physical, sensory, or family-related need that affects your ability to attend meetings, you're not alone and there are meetings in District 32 that can help.
The free Meeting Guide app (available on iOS and Android) lets you filter meetings by accessibility features, including:
Wheelchair access
Wheelchair-accessible bathroom
Babysitting available
Child-friendly
If you have needs not addressed by those four categories reach out to us at access@aanc32.org. We're here to help.
For Groups
Making Your Meeting More Accessible
"The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking." - Tradition 3
Every group in District 32 has the opportunity to remove barriers that may be keeping alcoholics from walking through the door.
Start with the Accessibilities Checklist (https://www.aa.org/assets/en_US/service-material-from-the-gso/smf-208-accessibilities-checklist-for-meetings-and-groups)
Area 51 Accessibilities Workshop Series
Area 51 has produced an ongoing workshop series covering a wide range of accessibility topics — from childcare and child-friendly meetings, to neurodivergence, chronic pain, visual impairment, mental illness, and more. Audio recordings of all six episodes are available on the Area 51 Accessibilities page.
Area 51 Accessibilities Pamphlet
Area 51 has also published an accessibilities pamphlet available — a good resource to share with your group or GSR.
Looking to get involved?
The District 32 Accessibilities Committee is open to anyone who wants to help make A.A. available to all alcoholics. No special qualifications required — just a desire to serve.
We meet once a month on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM on Zoom. Email us at access@aanc32.org to get the link.
